I guess for me my first step is just figuring out how to record the bit I want out of my keyboard without the MD overwriting it may have to lengthen the pattern, as it was impossible for me to turn the record trigger off fast enough after messing with the mod wheel on the keyboard. I assume you have read that specific section in the manual - could be confusing at first, I admit.

I have a DSI Tetra and I wanted to rig it up with the Machinedrum When trying to sample a KORG Monotron, I just bearly got a faint noise.
The Tetra is an incredible loud device, I never have it above volume when using a mixer or when using it with the inputs on my MPC I bought MD especially for the sample capability, so I really wonder about this.
For example, they say you are supposed to use the RAM machines to record loops on the fly and "rearrange them". No, I haven't tried those yet.

So I am now trying to figure this part out, aha…. I think you need to understand the MD-UW is not really a loop sampler. Buy - Sell - Trade The tutorial in the manual only covers the scenario where you first trigger the recording, then a measure later start the playback. All are great machines. Trust me, I hate gear that does not have that immediacy factor.
